Why we cannot become world leaders to help humanity with intellect as our capital is an enigma!

I always wondered at the vast spread and depth of innate intelligence and wisdom prevalent in the country but clouded by very myopic visions of so called political leaders who collect a few aggressive self-serving followers and then aggressively exploit the society for their own benefit. The good natured remain mute and allow the nonsensical behaviour, there by abetting the crime. How come persons who denigrate the Constitution of the country, are protected by those sworn to protect the Constitution? There cannot be any political cause greater than the Constitution, I believe! Public good cannot mean out right justification of parochial attitudes. We today witness a strange case where there are no more Indian leaders-- but have regional chieftains. Who is responsible for this? It took years of effort and hard struggle for Tilak, Ranade, Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Jayaprakash Narayan, Phule, Ambedkar, Satyam,Rajaji, Netaji .. to name just a few , but many more ordinary people from all walks of life who never saw any difference between people of various regions and never recognised no borders within India, nor any language or religion to build up the consciousness of one Bharat! Today we witness killing an young Indian in an examination hall because he does not belong to the region! We have various leaders who protect those who bomb and kill and profess loyalty outside the country. Then we see press making heroes who adopt terror and fear tactics and judges scared of local aggressive postures of groups, to deviate from handing down justice. Simple criminal acts are eulogised as if they are acts to protect people's larger good!When did the perceptions and value systems in our society deteriorate to the extent that open promotion of violence and fear based aggressive groups take the stage and society meekly submits to the same? We are witnessing a strange world where state is not acting like state, police with no credibility,justice abused by criminals and good natured muted. Even school children of this generation are growing up imbibing these glorious values as witnessed by their boorish behaviour at own class mates emulating the role models of the current leaders. The drifting society is a serious cause of concern, and ultimately even those who are promoting sowing seeds of these chaotic values as well as their own progeny will one day have to reap the excruciatingly painful harvest in very near future. It is time to call for a serious introspection and make every single leader take a public oath enunciating the values enshrined in the constitution and swear by it, to remain a responsible citizen of the country. Failure to do so should automatically be berated and publicly flogged and such leaders should remain behind bars. A nation which has given the world Gandhian values cannot be mute spectator and be hijacked by senseless self serving persons, purposely misleading many an innocent person to lose precious lives. Inida's intellect, instead should be used as capital to lead the world in improving quality of life of humanity.
