Moksha now or later?
I have very limited knowledge. Once I asked a wise man what is the use of moksha if it is only to avoid births but stay put neither happy nor sad and having no need to do anything, practically for what? After a few thousands of years does not one get bored of this state of existence or practical non-existence?
He smiled and said that it is actually a state of adbuta ananda and also freedom to be what one wants without getting the karma phala, and actually so free that you do not have any want!
Then I said , then what? Without the pain to compare what is pleasure? The pleasure without let can by itself become as unbearable as pain?
Moksha once obtained, the soul is called Mukta ... actually it only means you are free from the operation of three gunas and your balance karma becomes zero. The only activity is constant awareness of the supreme force running the universe, powering the same both physically and mentally and further driving the buddhi too take actions governed by the mathematics of karma with shorter and longer time cycles. So the muktas keep watching the wondrous activity of the supreme and always are in a state of wondrous excitement of of experiencing the supreme and His actions! So the mukta merely keeps on constantly contemplating without any break the wonderful amazing nature of the poorna guna supreme!
All the souls and the lord are permanent and nothing in the world is destroyed. The soul can be a mukta at the highest evolution, or remain tamasic rakshas but remain as permanent as any.
How do we reach this state of mind? Well is there logic to prove things? It is said logical base fails because logic puts some boundaries in thinking process which by itself limits us to discuss what is known and cannot help to know what is unknown.
Meditation is the path. In each of the millions of births we undertake we can collect a thimble full of wisdom and it is cumulative and not lost with another birth.
Now muktas also get duties. They do it not for their own sake. They need no karma. But for greater good they come amongst us to act as inspiration or put seeds in our thought processes to elevate ourselves.
Being constant sinners and weaklings we humans always desire for the most compassionate God who forgives us.. if needed we can place some additional dakshina also! But unfortunately the karma governs. No one can get out of the cycle and the chakra which inexorably drives our lives. But simple bhakti for the supreme, whatever be the name you give, be it narayana, allah or jesus .. true surrender and bhakti where you surrender your ego and truly see His hand in every action, see Him in every other human around, makes you free from anger, jealousy, and the only feeling you are left is of love, pure and simple. In this state you also observe you lose the special attachment you feel for children or rather you feel the same attachment to all with the result the attachment to wife and children also becomes nothing special! You cannot show any special favour to any one- because you love equally all!
In such state you are approaching the state of moksha even while you live here. Your actions then are guided by the objective of preserving life for all and good for all and nothing for self glory.
The stage when your atma is seen by you in constant prayer to the supreme lord residing within you, through your own mind's eye and you become detached from the need to satisfy any of your indriya's demands that includes your manassu too, you are practically approaching the moksha state.
Since language contains words for known and commonly experienced things, but not for unknown and uncommonly experienced items, we can say moksha is not this not that, but some thing you have to experience.
Bhagavad Gita gives the description of how a mukta will behave and how to identify him amongst us.
What I find is since death is actually birth only as per our Vedic knowlege, the period we have in between can be governed by the principles enunciated by Lord Krishna and live almost like mukta now itself, if we can by practice, get over the effects of the three gunas controlling us.
What ever passed in my mind I wrote Sir, spontaneously and if it makes any sense, it is to your credit and if it is non-sense then it exposes my limited appreciation due to my balance karma!
