Arvind Kejriwal is not the problem! We are!
Why India gets leaders who can effectively deceive us for own benefit! Even anti corruption is merely a plank , to gain for self! That includes Arvind Kejriwal. He refuses to take first step of empowering us to allow feed back on govt file before issue of order.
Their party produces false lists of membership which includes Jawahar Lal Nehru. , MK Gandhi Etc.
So better enjoy this story shared by a friend : problem is not with Arvind Kejriwal .We are the problem.
It happened at a New York Airport. This is hilarious. The guts of this girl, and there are so many like her, hats off to confident women that refuse to put up with nonsense and focus on doing the right thing. An award should go to the United Airlines gate agent in New York for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo. For all of you out there who have had to deal with an irate disrespectful customer, this one is for you.
A crowded United Airlines flight was canceled. A single agent was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers and doing her best.
Suddenly, an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket on the counter and said, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS."
The agent replied, "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these folks first; and then I'm sure we'll be able to work something out." The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"
Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone. "May I have your attention, please?", she began, her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him with his identity, please come to Gate 14".
With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the United Airlines agent, gritted his teeth, and said, "F*** You!"
Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry sir, you'll have to get in line for that, too."
Hats off lady!!
And this, is the difference I see between India and US and no matter how much India catches up to US in terms of material things and lifestyle, fashion etc; an overall strong sense of self and self respect, above all, with a desire and commitment to do what is right on the part of every individual, honestly, without excuses is something that can't be mocked or competed with... it's something that's developed when a person is 'real' and 'accepting' of themselves and has strength to live an honest life and not a life for or fearing society and society's judgments. I'm sure and have seen such people in India. But there are so few that it doesn't make much difference to life the society. I think the whole culture and their definition of success has to change for this, We have good foundation, but we need good pillars.
And in this context, I remember the quote, yet again:
"May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please,
but as the opportunity to do what is right"
~Peter Marshall
